Shannen Doherty’s longtime Malibu mansion has hit the market for $US9.5 million ($A14.6 million) — just over a year after her death.
The “Beverly Hills 90210” star died at the age of 53 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Described as her personal “sanctuary”, the actress snapped up the estate in 2004 for $2.56 million ($A3.93 million), Realtor reports.
It was the home where she was able to escape the hustle and bustle of Hollywood during her lengthy cancer battle.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the property has been put on the market by the “Charmed” star’s longtime friend, real estate agent Chris Cortazzo, who is also serving as the executor of Doherty’s estate.
Speaking to the outlet, Mr Cortazzo — who met Doherty in the 1990s after she went to view one of his listings — revealed how the actress first fell in love with the property, noting that she was most drawn to the privacy offered at the elegant estate.
“When you’re a notable figure, your home becomes your sanctuary,” he explained — adding that Doherty would regularly host her “very close, intimate circle of friends” at the house, where she threw Italian Night every week, as well as a Dancing Night.
Mr Cortazzo revealed that, because the actress had no children, the profits from the sale of her home will go to her mother, Rosa.

Cast of “Beverly Hills 90210” Jason Priestley as Brandon Walsh, Gabrielle Carteris as Andrea Zucherman, Iain Ziering as Steve Sanders, Jenni Garth as Kelly Taylor, Brian Austin Green as David Silver, Tori Spelling as Donna Martin, Luke Perry as Dylan McKay & Shannen Doherty as Brenda Walsh.
Doherty was legally still married to her third husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, at the time of her death.
However, she had split from him in 2023, and their divorce was finalised just two days after she passed.
Though Doherty purchased the five-bedroom property in 2004, she carried out an extensive renovation in 2018 after the property was damaged in the Woolsey Fire that same year.
Mr Cortazzo revealed the home is filled with different treasures that the actress collected while travelling around the world.
Doherty’s property boasts stunning views of the surrounding area, particularly from the primary suite, which features a retractable glass wall.
Inside the dwelling, the main living space boasts beamed ceilings, an expansive kitchen with custom cabinetry, and a largely neutral aesthetic that is peppered with more unique decor items, such as sliding barn doors that separate the dining room from the den.
“Tucked behind mature hedging on one of Malibu’s most desirable streets, this exquisite estate presents a striking blend of California modernism and rustic refinement,” the listing notes.
“Completely reimagined with an emphasis on natural light, flow, and function, the property exudes a sense of serenity from the moment you arrive.”

Outside, the home features a glittering lap pool that overlooks the ocean, while hedges that border the one-acre property help to ensure complete privacy from prying eyes, something that Doherty is said to have prized.
The yard also boasts an edible garden, as well as a canopy of trees to provide natural shade on hot days.
“Beyond the main residence, the grounds unfold into a spectacular lifestyle setting,” the description continues.
“A sleek lap pool with integrated spa is flanked by sun loungers and bordered by lush privacy hedges.
“Tiered gardens bloom with vibrant plantings, and a thoughtfully designed dining terrace invites open-air meals beneath the trees.
“A fully realised edible garden, complete with raised beds and fruiting trees, enhances the property’s sense of abundance and connection to nature.”
In addition to the main house, the property also features a detached guesthouse, which can be used as a studio space, additional bedroom, or even a fitness centre.

Doherty purchased the home three years after she ended her three-year run as Prue Halliwell on “Charmed” and 10 years after she quit her hit role in “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
However, the actress’s on-screen career had begun long before she landed the part of Brenda Walsh — having started when she was just a child and appeared in several TV spots, before securing the role of Jenny Wilder on “Little House on the Prairie.”
After Doherty was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2015, she began openly documenting her health journey, candidly revealing the many different treatments she was undergoing, while continuing to share her positive outlook on life even as she battled the debilitating disease.
In 2017, the actress revealed that her cancer was in remission — however, just two years later it returned, with Doherty announcing that the disease had advanced to Stage 4.
“I don’t think that I’ve processed it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways,” she admitted during a February 2020 interview with Good Morning America.
“My first reaction is always concern about, ‘How am I going to tell my mum? My husband?’ “My mum is a ridiculously strong, courageous human being. So is my husband, but I worry about him.”
She added: “I’m petrified. I’m pretty scared. There are definitely days where I say, ‘Why me?’ And then I go, ‘Why not me? Who else? Who else besides me deserves this?’ None of us do.”

Less than a year before her passing, Doherty spoke to People about her determination to keep fighting her cancer.
She told the outlet in November 2023: “I’m not done with living. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with creating. I’m not done with hopefully changing things for the better.
“I’m just not done.”
The actress regularly spoke out about her cancer battle on her hit podcast, “Let’s Be Clear,” on which Cortazzo appeared on several occasions.
During one of those occasions, Mr Cortazzo and Doherty discussed how their “casual real estate relationship” blossomed into a close bond “full of love, laughter, and even a few screaming matches along the way,” the description revealed.
The duo also opened up about how they were working together to plan the future of Doherty’s estate, as well as her ideal funeral plans.
“In this episode, the BFF’s find a way to chuckle through the toughest conversations … from funeral lists to estate planning, to the unknown road ahead. Everyone needs a Chris by their side,” the description went on.
Doherty’s death was confirmed by her longtime publicist, Leslie Sloane, in a statement made to the outlet on July 14.
It read: “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.”
