Here’s the 2026 Winter Olympics Biathlon schedule and more for you. The biathlon combines grueling cross-country skiing with precision rifle shooting, making it one of the most demanding and exciting Winter Olympic sports. At the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, all biathlon events take place at the Anterselva Biathlon Arena (also known as Antholz-Anterselva Biathlon Arena) in Rasen-Antholz, South Tyrol, Italy. The venue is recently renovated and capable of holding up to 19,000 spectators, hosts its first-ever Olympic biathlon competitions.

The biathlon program features 11 medal events (5 men’s, 5 women’s, 1 mixed), running from February 8 to February 21. The first event is the Mixed Relay on Sunday, February 8, kicking off the competitive action right after the Opening Ceremony on February 6.

Key Biathlon Events to Watch

• Mixed Relay (Feb 8): High-drama opener with strategy and comebacks.
• Individual Races (Feb 10–11): Longest distances, most shooting (4 bouts), penalizing misses harshly.
• Sprints & Pursuits (Feb 13–15): Fast-paced, with pursuits starting based on sprint deficits—exciting chases!
• Mass Starts (Feb 20–21): 30 athletes start together; pure intensity.
• Relays: Team dynamics, handoffs, and anchor leg heroics.

U.S. Athletes to Watch

Team USA has never won an Olympic biathlon medal, but 2026 could change that. The squad is strong, with breakout talents and veterans.

• Campbell Wright (23, Wanaka, NZ-born but competing for USA): Top hope—silver medals in sprint and pursuit at 2025 Worlds, recent World Cup podiums. Aiming to make history as the first American biathlon medalist.
