Tribunal Squashes Governor Diri’s Election

The Bayelsa State governorship political election tribunal today scratched the election of Governor Douye Diri and also his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

In a bulk opinion presented through Justice Yunusa Musa in the petetion brought before it by the Advance National Democratic Party (ANDP) the tribunal said that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) unjustifiably left out the party from the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state.

It, for that reason, ordered INEC to conduct a fresh governorship political election in Bayelsa State within 90 days.
It additionally ordered that the petitioner needs to be included of in the fresh political election to be conducted.
